About Me

About Me

Mike-BioHi, my name is Mike Todd, I run Hampton Roads IT and I’m looking forward to meeting you! I am a full-time Firefighter & EMT, and if you don’t know anything about the work schedule, it basically means I work 10 days per month, and am off the other 20. These other 20 days are dedicated to working on your PCs, setting up wireless networks, and designing websites.

I have been working with computers for 20 years or so, and have worked as an Information Systems Technician, Network Administrator, and PC Technician for Government Agencies as well as Local Privately Held Companies. I left my last IT position only because the opportunity arose to join the Fire Department, and I do not regret it one bit!

I am located in Chesapeake, but serve the areas of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and parts of North Carolina as well.

How Can I Help You?

Hampton Roads IT provides technology solutions and IT support services for home users as well as small sized businesses. We are dedicated to delivering affordable IT results that help you succeed.

Having issues with your computer? I can help. Whether the one computer you have at home has become dreadfully slow, or you need the multiple computers at your business networked together, I can provide solutions for you.

Common issues for any PC:

  • Computer performance has slowed. There are a few reasons why this happens to your PC. Shortage of upkeep, fragmented data, corrupted registry, malware, and nonessential loading of PC programs and services can surely have an affect on your computer speed and performance.
  • Viruses. Sometimes, despite having an up to date anti-virus program, PCs still manage to get infected by some form of virus. This can deteriorate your PC’s performance and even cause an absolute failure. The only 100% effective solution is manually removing the virus and anything it’s left behind.
  • Spyware/Adware. While spyware and adware are generally not as damaging as having a virus, it can often block up your computer and slow your Internet connections causing an ultimately slow machine. Not to mention the security risks of having these on your machine. And just like removing viruses, the only 100% effective solution is to manually remove the programs and files creating this problem.
  • Crashes. They can be one of the most frustrating computer issues. The computer just freezes or the dreaded Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) occurs right in the middle of something important. There are many reasons this occurs, but I can get to the bottom of the problem with my diagnostic tools.

Now is the time to get that PC fixed or that website built!
